Local businesses have come together to support Hayle Surf Lifesaving Club by creating a new social area for members.

A barbecue facility donated and built by companies can be used by club members and their families at the club base in Riviere Towans.

The project was organised by Daniel Lees of Level Construction, who financed the building of it and materials were donated by Greg Mungles, manager of Jewsons in Hayle, and GMC stone suppliers in Helston.

Club captain Dave Parker said: “The generous sponsorship of the barbecue is greatly appreciated as it will provide a social focal point for us, further enhancing the family-oriented nature of our club. This in turn helps us to continue our vital community work providing training in beach and sea safety for all ages, competition training for both ocean and pool-based events.”
